Prepared Parent Advocate home page

I created Prepared Parent Advocate because I’ve stood on both sides of the table — first as a school psychologist, and now as a parent of two children with disabilities. I know firsthand how confusing, emotional, and overwhelming it can be to navigate the education system, especially when all you want is to ensure your child gets the support they need to thrive.

During my years in schools, I often wished I had more time to sit with parents, answer every question, and truly walk alongside them through the process. But the reality is, the system moves fast...and parents are often left without the guidance they deserve.

While I support families across a range of ages and disabilities, I have a particular heart for the preschool years, when early signs of need often surface and families are first introduced to the special education process. I also carry a strong heart for Autism advocacy, and ensuring inclusion and the least restrictive environment (LRE) for all students — a commitment deepened by my personal success in advocating for my own autistic son to be included in his program. My background in autism assessment allows me to provide gentle, developmentally informed perspective that helps families get clear answers, and feel seen, in those early, tender years.

That’s why I created this space: to share the knowledge and resources I’ve gained over the years in a clear, accessible, and compassionate way. My mission is to empower parents with the tools they need to confidently advocate for their child, bridge the communication gap with schools, and build true partnerships.

Credentials:

I believe advocacy is more than showing up at a meeting — it’s building clarity and confidence that carries into every future step. I’m here not just to advise, but to partner with you through the real challenges and victories.

Finding the right support for your child should not be a financial burden. For families in the self-determination program (SDP), this opens a new door to professional advocacy without the out-of-pocket stress. Reach out to learn more.
